Congratulations, Jamie!

We wanted to take a moment to offer our sincerest congratulations to Jamie Brooks, who recently took all 8 of the ASE Certification Tests needed to qualify as an ASE-Certified Master Automobile Technician.  He not only passed, but got 100% on each!  When was the last time YOU got 100% on 8 tests in the same day?  Thought so!  Then you can see why we’re so proud, and why we plan to hang onto him for many, many years to come.  Congratulations, Jamie!

Comment-of-the-Month-ButtonComment of the Month

This month, longtime client Matt L. sent us a Comment Card taking issue with the slightly partisan leaning of our Lobby Library…

“It would be nice to see some balance in the library.”

Our reply is below.  And if you agree with Matt that we should broaden our reading horizons we’d be glad to consider your suggestions… no guarantees, though.  What should we add?

“Wanted to respond to your recent Comment Card where you said you’d like to see some balance in the Lobby Library.  I don’t know where you stand politically, but if you’re wanting balance then I imagine you tilt a little more right than our Library… not an unreasonable ask.

I understand it’s a little lopsided, but it’s not all lightweight political screeds. Much of it is deeper than the scandal-of-the-week, delving into history, psychology, politics, and more.  It’s not ALL like that, but Tom’s always wanted to look beyond the headlines to the deeper issues.  Back in the KPOJ days Tom took quite a bit of pleasure bashing both ‘the Left’ and ‘the Right’, but things have changed quite a bit since then.  The Status Quo still needs changing, and God knows the Dems don’t have the answers, but the choices these days seem to be not Left vs Right but Democracy vs Fascism, or better yet, Reality vs UnReality.  ‘Balance’ between these choices isn’t a good thing.

But Tom isn’t an idealogue and we have no intention to be a propaganda pump.  Seems today’s Republicans don’t want to have a conversation about real issues, but that’s them.  We think there’s a huge value to exploring the many sides of every issue, and there are strong arguments (whether we agree or not) to be made for Conservative policies (whether today’s Republicans are making them or not).  Do you have any suggestions that would bring balance without dignifying the worst of today’s Right? We’d gladly consider adding them.

One other quick thing… it may seem Tom’s a Lefty, but he’s much more of a radical middle-of-the-roader.  We took a long time to write an article explaining his politics, and why any sane businessman would go so far out on a limb for politics, so if you want to see it online the link is here.”

We also have a couple ongoing offers you might find valuable…

Feature- CNPCarbon Neutral Program

Our company’s commitment to the environment led us to partner with Bonneville Environmental Foundation to create our Carbon Neutral Program in 2007. Client members offset the carbon production of their vehicles for one year AND save 10% on Labor Charges here at the shop! It’s a win for you AND our environment and it’s been very successful… since we instituted the program our members have prevented over 1.9 MILLION POUNDS of carbon from being dumped into our air!

RefRew Program ButtonReferral Reward Program

Year after year, referrals from our existing clients are our greatest source of new clients, so we’ve tried hard to think of some way to appropriately reward people for their referrals.  Our solution is  our Referral Reward Program, where we make donations to the non-profit group of your choice to say ‘thanks’ for your generous referrals.  Here’s how it works…

Your reviews and referrals matter

AskForReviewButtonWe are constantly grateful for the supportive and loyal clients we have developed over the years.  Your comments and appreciation keep us on the right road to providing the superior automotive service you deserve.  Your reviews and referrals are not only the highest compliments we can receive, but they’re the lifeblood of our new business.  If you like what you’ve found at Tom Dwyer Automotive Services, please tell a friend or take a minute to write a review on YelpAngieslistGoogle, or the review site of your choice. Thank you!

Latest Automotive Recalls

RecallListButtonAutomobiles are just like any other product; occasional flaws in manufacture or design can cause problems once they leave the factory.  When an issue is identified the manufacturers and government work hard to bring the vehicles back in for refit or repair, but not all recalls make the front pages.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration maintains a constantly updated list of recalls from every manufacturer.  The last month’s recalls are below, but clicking the button at right will take you to the full list at the NHTSA website.
