In September, Tom Dwyer Automotive brought an amazing 10-foot-tall spider to Portland Maker’s Faire at OMSI. It really was a much better idea than it sounds, and the kids (and even the adults) seemed to get quite a kick out of it. While the spider was the main attraction we had another going on as well… our Car Of The Future Contest! We had our usual display of creativity and our usual difficulty picking winners, but don’t take our word for it… which of these would you pick? Caroline won first place not just for her satellite or fire engine, but for the cool legs that let you walk right over inconvenient traffic
Ravyn was a close second place with a car that floats over people. We also like the fact that it kinda looks like a KIA.
Logan took third place with another hover car. We really liked the way he thought out the details… a car designer on the way!
An Honorable Mention goes to Clara for her environmentally sensitive, low fuel, high speed, low traffic solution. Great idea, but we felt like it needed a little more detail to win.
