Welcome to the Future! Our 2014 Car of the Future Winners

Feature- Future CarsOur Car of the Future Contest winners

RestOfNewsletterFor many years we’ve been proud sponsors of the Sellwood Park Concert Series.  (If you’ve never been to the show, you don’t know what you’re missing.  Check out our article on this year’s series here.)  Each year, we run a coloring contest for the kids at the show.  We call it the “Car of the Future” contest, and the pitch is simple… show us what cars will look like in the future.  Winners receive gift certificates to Wallace Books in Sellwood, plus a little something for their parents.  We had over 80 entries this year, and just like all the past years we weren’t disappointed.   Take a look at this year’s entries and we think you’ll agree- the future is in very good and very imaginative hands…

IsabelX

Our first place winner this year was 10-year-old Isabel, who combined nature, transportation, and pediatric management. This car, which doubles as an RV, has a treehouse that the kids can be banished to on those long summer road trips.

NatalieO

Second place this year went to 11-year-old Natalie, who designed a very considerate car. The legs don’t just allow the car to walk, they bend to let people in and out.

OliviaW

Third place went to 9-year-old Olivia. Her car design wasn’t very detailed, but she seemed to sum up all the potential of all the other entries. The Car of the Future will be “whatever you wish it will be”. Good job, Olivia!

Those were our choices for the top three, but as you can see it was (as always) a difficult choice.  We picked out 20 of the best for you to enjoy.
