We were getting together with some friends for movies, but now we have to call it quits.
Since last December we’ve been working with SEIU Local 503, Economic Fairness Oregon, We Are Oregon, and Jobs With Justice to bring you Tom Dwyer Movie Night. It’s been a lot of fun, we’ve met a lot of great people, and we’ve seen a lot of great movies, but the crowds haven’t been filling the seats. The interest just isn’t there. So, unfortunately, we’ve decided it’s time to bring Movie Night to a close.
Before we turn out the lights we’d like to extend a special thanks to Timothy Welp, Mo Crawford, and all the other folks at SEIU who worked so hard on this project. And thanks as well to the dedicated core of people who DID join us each month… we appreciate your interest and involvement, and we hope something will bring us together again soon.
We hope Movie Night gave you the opportunity to see some examples of thoughtful movie making in both fiction and non-fiction, but of course we haven’t even scratched the surface. As we close the curtain on Movie Night, we’d like to leave you with a few final recommendations for further viewing. If you liked the movies we’ve been showing, then we’re sure you’ll find something to love on this list from Films For Action…
Thanks again to everyone who participated in Movie Night. We hope to see you again soon!
