Speak out against Wage Theft

Ethical Business Leader Campaign

Attention ethical businesspeople: Would you join us in signing a statement decrying wage theft and worker misclassification? We are concerned that too many businesses are cutting corners by not paying their workers all of their legally-earned wages. We see companies that are paying workers less than minimum wage, denying workers overtime pay, and misclassifying workers as independent contractors when they are really employees.

Twenty-six states have passed laws to deter wage theft and worker misclassification. If you agree with the statement (PDF) and would like to see a national law passed, please sign it, share it with your colleagues who agree to act responsibly and fax it back to Kim Bobo, Executive Director of Interfaith Worker Justice (fax number 772-728-8409) by February 1. You may also e-mail your signed statement to Kim at kbobo@iwj.org.
