If you ever want to be surprised, ask a kid their opinion. For the past three years at the Sellwood Park Concerts we’ve asked kids what cars will look like in the future and we haven’t been disappointed yet. We seemed to get a lot of designs with flames this year, and a couple had great names like “The Pocket Full of Sunshine” and “The Peace Ray Car”. Here are some of the other features the kids thought were important…
- Solar panels (many mentions)
- Personal TV’s
- Cool colors
- Fly so fast it sets on fire
- “Has everything inside”
- Voice command
- “Environment friendly smoke of the Future”
- Flying car with “wheels so you can also drive”
- Easy to park
Choosing the three winners from all the great entries is always the hardest part of the contest. Each one will receive a gift certificate to Wallace Books in Sellwood, and their parents will receive a certificate for a Minor Interval Service here at the shop. Our winners are shown below first, with all the entries shown below them. Clicking on any of the images will let you see all the detail and hard work these kids put into their entries. Thanks to everyone who entered, and congratulations to all our winners. Start getting those pencils sharpened for next year!
And first place this year goes to Ally, for her “Flying Peace Ray Car”. Ally took environmentalism to the next level by designing a car that doesn’t just “not pollute”, it actively makes the world a better place with a peace ray that “gives off peace”. A nice feature in any car!
