The Tom Dwyer Newsletter
The Tom Dwyer Newsletter
Every company has a newsletter these days, so why should you read ours? Because as Tom often says, “no one wants to read about bugs every month from their exterminator”. If we want to stay out of your spam box then we have to give you more than just car stuff. Sure, there’s valuable info about your vehicles, but there’s also major articles on subjects from politics to the environment to art. Our columns cover health, food, humor, books, science, and more. No matter what you’re expecting, we promise the Tom Dwyer Newsletter is unlike any other company newsletter you’ve ever read!
Get To Know Our Shop
We say we’re different, but what does that mean? Why should you expect your experience with Tom Dwyer to be different from any other auto shop you’ve ever dealt with? This is where to find out. We take deep dives on why our NON-COMMISSION Service Advisors put your priorities first, how our inspection process works, why servce menus aren’t for you, the top auto repair scams to avoid, and we’re just getting started. If you’re looking at Tom Dwyer for the first time, this puts all the important stuff right where you can see it. And it’s not just the good stuff… settle in and read all our BAD REVIEWS, all in one place!
Understanding Your Vehicle
Very few people are “up to speed” with modern vehicle mechanics. Even people who can change their own oil and adjust their own brakes may not understand the complexities of turbo charged fuel injection, or computer monitoring, or crumple zones, or lane departure systems. And for the regular folks, even though our Service Advisors do their best to educate you on the how’s and why’s of what we’re recommending, it may be a lot to take in at the counter. We’ve built this section to give you the basics on tires, brakes, timing belts, and many of the major systems of your vehicle. We think educated clients are the best clients, and this is the best place to start.
Buying Or Selling a Vehicle
It’s not quite auto repair, but at one time or another almost all of our clients have asked for advice on buying or selling a vehicle. You may be wondering about when to NOT repair your vehicle and move on to a new one, what kind of scams or red flags to watch out for at used car lots, what kind of negotiation tactics work at a new car dealership, how to donate your old vehicle, or what kind of tricks there are to save thousands on the vehicle your want. We’ll be here for you for the long term on your vehicle ownership journey, but this is the place you want to go to get started.
Everything Else We Do
Since Tom started in garage decades ago he’s always thought a business could and should be more than just the basic service it provides. If we’re IN the community we should be PART of the community and give back in every way we can. From neighborhood foliage, to community groups, to in-depth articles on critical issues facing all of us, and even a little nostalgia from the KPOJ days, here’s where you’ll find everything we do that has nothing to do with cars. And, after more than forty years, that’s a LOT of stuff to explore!
