It’s great to hear from us!

It’s great to hear from us!

Here’s what you’ll get when you trust us with your contact information

Your phone rings and someone you don’t know wants to explain your health insurance options.  Your email pings and it’s yet another offer for little blue pills.  You bring in the mail and it’s a stack of discounts on gutter cleaning.  We all face the risk of abuse every time we share our personal contact information.

We ask our Tom Dwyer clients for all that information too, so we understand why you’d be a little skittish about giving it to us.  We’re about to tell you how we use your mail, email, and phone information, but first let us assure you WE WILL NEVER SELL OR SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH ANYONE.  That’s what we WON’T do… here’s what we WILL do.

Why do we ask for your information at all?

We can’t deliver the service you expect without proper communication.  When your vehicle is actually in the shop you’ll want to know what’s happening and when it will be done.  In between visits, you need reminder notices keep you on track for your maintenance.  When we offer service discounts or have other information that could impact you, you’ll want to know.  If we’re missing any of your contact methods then your service will suffer.

We realize it’s a privilege to have your contact methods so we won’t abuse the trust you’ve placed in us.  We will absolutely use every one of those contacts, but only for things that don’t waste your time.

What will we send you?

To your phone number

We only use your phone number for direct contact with you (phone or text) while your vehicle is in the shop.

To your physical mail address

Welcome in-  On your first visit we’ll send you a “Welcome to the Family” letter to thank you for trying us, check to make sure your first service went well, give you a few tips to get the most from your ongoing service, and confirm we have your address correct.  VERY often, people will forget to add their apartment number or other important detail that blocks mail, so this is also our first test of your address.

6, 12, and 18-month Reminder notices- This is the only other physical mail we routinely send.  Starting at 6 months after your last visit (about when you’re scheduled for your next oil change) we’ll send you a reminder.  If we haven’t heard from you at 12 months we’ll send another, and another if we still haven’t heard from you at 18 months.  We’ll stop sending reminders at 18 months, but DON’T WORRY!  We’ll still have all your vehicle information and will gladly keep servicing it whenever you decide to come in.  Also, if we’re running a coupon or special offer you’ll hear about it in these snailmail reminders.

To your email address

We know how easy it is to annoy you with spam and how easy it is to unsubscribe, so if we want to stay in email contact with you we have to deliver actual value you’ll care about and look forward to.  We try to send one email about every other week to stay in general contact.

Monthly newsletter– As Tom says, “No one wants to read about bugs from their exterminator month after month” so we’ve made our newsletter about much more than cars.  We do cover vehicle and mechanical information but that’s just the tip of a very large iceberg.   Good or bad, we promise our newsletter is unlike any other company newsletter you’ve ever read!

Monthly contact–  In between the newsletters we’ll send what we call an “email blast”.  It’s often about a single issue or community event, but most often it’s a giveaway of some type.  The best guide to what we’re going to send is what we’ve sent already, so here’s the content of our email blasts from May 2024 to May 2025…

May 2024– Free tickets to the Inner City Blues Fest

Jun 2024– Free Carwash coupons

Jul 2024– Open during the crushing heat wave

Aug 2024– Our Carbon Neutral Program

Sep 2024- Free Carwash coupons

Oct 2024- Free tickets to Bella Organic Haunted Maze

Nov 2024- Fall foliage in Sellwood

Dec 2024- Voting for our Referral Reward Program yearly winner

Jan 2025- Free subscriptions to Ground News

Feb 2025- Free tickets to LIVE WIRE!

Mar 2025- Free tickets to Portland Magic Jam

Apr 2025- Free tickets to LIVE WIRE!

May 2025- Free subscriptions to Heather Cox Richardson

We very much want to stay in email contact with you but if you decide to opt out there’s a link on each email we send.  If you opt out of email it will NOT interfere with your other mail or phone communication.

And that’s it!

That’s what you should expect when you trust us with your information.  Again, we know how frustrating it can be to get caught by some company’s spam fountain, so we try very hard not to be “that company”.  If you feel we should send less, or maybe even something more, we definitely want to hear from you.  We happily post our own phone and email so you can always reach a Service Advisor, and (though we won’t mail it to you) we leave a pre-addressed Comment Card in each vehicle after service.  Please use it… good or bad, we care what you think!
