There’s a joke that “minor pain is any pain happening to someone else”.  OK, it’s not a great joke, but it points out the relativity of pain.  Nothing compares with the pain of a stubbed toe until you break an arm, have kidney stones, or get cancer.  We ran across a grimly fascinating list of the 50 worst pains humans can experience, and all but the toe stubs are on it.  You won’t be surprised that any of these are on the list, but you’ll be surprised at how they rank… insect bites that are worse than broken bones?  Don’t know if it’s true, but it’s on the list…
