When our clients refer their friends, family, and co-workers to our shop, we definitely want to say thank you. Our Referral Reward program does that without offering self-serving oil changes or shop discounts; instead we make a donation in your name to the non-profit group of your choice. It’s been very popular with our clients, and even more popular with the groups that benefit! These groups don’t just get a one-off check either, each group becomes eligible for a yearly, ONE THOUSAND DOLLAR award that you, our clients, vote on. Which brings us to today… it’s time for you to decide. Who gets our $1000 Yearly Award? Will it be homeless pets? Kids with cancer? Wilderness protection? Social justice? In 2019 we’ve already made 153 donations to 73 different groups, $5,784 this year alone ($27,622 since the program began, if you’re interested!) covering everything from behemoths to individuals working out of their basement. While we gladly give to any organization through the year, for our Yearly Award we take larger groups like the Red Cross, Oregon Food Bank, Oregon Humane Society, Shriners Hospital, and others out of the running because we worry our $1000 would be lost in budgets of millions. We reserve our yearly award for the small- to mid-size groups for whom $1000 would be a huge impact. Again, during the year we’ll gladly give to any group you choose, but for the Yearly award we make the bigger charities (and past winners of our Yearly Award) ineligible.
