Complete info on the Portland Teacher’s fight

On February 5, Portland teachers voted to authorize a strike in their current conflict with the Portland Public Schools (PPS).  According to the most recent KATU report, “Both sides gave each other updated proposals on Monday, but neither side would talk about what’s changed.”  Many of our clients are teachers who have told us how important this issue is to them, and they suggested we do an article on it.  We obviously have little to add from a news point of view, but we do agree it’s an important issue on many levels.  What are our schools for?  How do we accomplish those goals?  How do we fund those choices?  Who decides?  These are the most basic, community-level, life-impacting decisions questions imaginable.  Since the most important questions require the most information, the most valuable contribution we can make is to gather these links to the most complete information available…RestOfNewsletter
