What do you get when you combine geeks, makers, hackers, entrepreneurs, students, journalists, thinkers, builders, and assorted techy creatives for two days? We have no idea, and neither do the organizers of Barcamp Portland, May 20 and 21 at the Eliot Center in downtown Portland. That’s why they organized the event… to find out what would happen. You may have been to various professional conferences before, but Barcamp is an UN-conference, and chances are you’ve never been to anything like it. The aganda isn’t set ahead of time, it’s pulled from the experiences and interests of all the attendees on the day of the conference. Stop by and check out sessions on everything from cigar-box-banjos to the latest Linux updates. It’s a great way to spend time with other people who share your interests in the intersection of technology and creativity. Make time to drop in!
