It’s off to the Intertubes for this month’s Humorousness as we introduce you to Socality Barbie, the new hottest thing on Instagram. Often called “Hipster Barbie”, she’s the creation of a 20-something wedding photographer in Portland who has so far chosen to remain anonymous. Madame X says “I created the account to make fun of the people who were using the ‘#liveauthentic’ hashtag on Instagram. All their pictures looked alike to me and I couldn’t tell them apart anymore so it just didn’t seem all that authentic.” Socality Barbie has been profiled in Wired, the Guardian, and The Altlantic among other venues, but her Instagram account has floods of pictures that may be a little too close to the truth for many Portlanders.
