What Makes a Quality Shop?

Hi I’m Tom Dwyer, KPOJ’s longest continuous supporter

I’d like to thank all the KPOJ listeners who have become valued clients.  You’ve helped support KPOJ- a source of truth and sanity for us all.  Listeners have come from as far as Seattle and Pendleton to show their support, but I realize that not everyone can do that, so here are a few tips to keep in mind when looking for a quality shop

Ask for referrals from friends or locals if new to an area

Ask the senior counter person at the auto parts store

Use internet reviews like Angie’s list or Yelp

Check BBB reports

Make sure a shop is organized, equipped and well staffed;

ASE Certifications are important; especially the ASE blue seal of excellence facility designation. Make sure the shop and office staff is ASE certified; and look for technicians with ASE Master Certification.

Always begin with a small service to test the waters and Make sure there is a great warranty.
